Nursing Homes and Communal Establishments

This indicator refers to the number of persons aged 65 years and over that reported they were usually resident alone in a communal establishment in their Census of Population return. These establishments included nursing homes and hospitals. The indicator includes ‘children’s homes’ in the description, but only those aged 65 years and over are included in the reference table.
