This indicator refers to the extent to which persons aged 65 years and over experience difficulties with personal care activities, and the extent to which they receive help with these activities. The results are self-reported data.

The respondents were asked the following question relating to personal care activities:

 Do you have difficulty doing any of the following (no difficulty, some difficulty, a lot of difficulty, cannot do it by myself)

  • Feeding yourself?
  • Getting in and out of a bed or a chair?
  • Dressing and undressing?
  • Using toilets?
  • Bathing or showering?
