This indicator refers to a person's perception of crime. Respondents of the Crime and Victimisation survey were asked to consider the period of 12 months prior to interview and to rate their response to a series of questions relating to the impact that crime has on their lives.

Respondents were asked about the extent to which they worry about being a victim of crime in relation to the following types of crime:

  • Crimes that could result in physical harm or injury to them
  • Crimes that could result in damage or loss of property belonging to them
  • Crimes involving fraud or deception targeting their personal finances or data
  • Crimes arising from their use of the internet (e.g. harassment or bullying, credit card fraud, hacking etc.)

Percentage of persons by the level of safety they feel walking in their local area at night and age group
