This indicator refers to older person's interactions with the health services in Ireland. 

It includes data relating to the following in the previous 12 months:

  • Preventative service usages
  • GP consultations
  • Prevalence of in-patient or day-case admissions to hospital
  • Use of prescription and non-prescription drugs
Preventative service usage in the previous 12 months by age group
Preventative service usage in the previous 12 months by age group and year (%)
Percentage of persons that had a GP consultation in the previous 12 months by age group
Percentage of persons that had in-patient or day-case admissions in the previous 12 months by age
Percentage of persons that used prescribed and non-prescribed medicines in the two weeks prior to interview by age group
