Figures 7.1, 7.2 and 7.3 display the 2017-2025 time-series of several notable sectors of the economy. To allow for greater comparability the percentage contribution made by each sector to the current price total is shown.

In 2025 when measured by Output or by GVA, Manufacturing was the biggest sector of the economy. Information & Communication was the biggest sector when measured by Intermediate Consumption. These two sectors dominated and combined they comprised 59% of Output, 64% of Intermediate Consumption and 53% of GVA across the economy in 2025.

These figures also illustrate differences in the relative composition of Output across sectors. In 2025 Construction Output, Intermediate Consumption and GVA was respectively 15%, 21% and 9% of Manufacturing.

The Other category in the figures above is total Output less Manufacturing, Information & Communication and Construction.

Table 7.1 provides a detailed 37 sector breakdown of Output, Intermediate Consumption and Gross Value Added at current prices for 2025.

Table 7.2 shows the Goods and Services account for 2025. It displays total Supply and total Use in current prices for 2020-2025. This table shows by product group and for the total economy, the supply of products and their uses. Total Supply and Use was estimated to be over €1.8 trillion in 2025.

The Goods and Services Account also shows the Resources (output and imports) and the Uses of goods and services (intermediate consumption, final consumption, capital formation, exports).
