Figure 10.1 shows the contributions of each of the different types of expenditure to the total Households Expenditure on Goods & Services in Ireland in 2025. Of this total, Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas & Other Fuels account for 25.7%, Restaurants & Hotels account for 17.6%, Transport accounts for 10.0%, while Food & Non-alcoholic Beverages account for 9.8%.

Figure 10.2 above shows the percentage change in each of the components of Households Expenditure on Goods & Services in Ireland in 2025. There was a large expenditure increase in Health which rose by 9.0%. Other areas which saw more modest increases include Restaurants & Accommodation Services which increased by 5.9% and Furnishings, Household Equipment & Routine Household which grew by 5.4%. Expenditure in some areas declined including Insurance & Financial Services which fell by 5.5% and Alcoholic Beverages, Tobacco & Narcotics which decreased by 1.9%.
