The data presented is used by the Child Poverty and Well-being Programme Office.

This section examines barriers children have accessing certain aspects of education. It presents data on children from different demographic backgrounds who cannot access school trips or events and those who cannot afford a suitable place to study or do homework.

To analyse the impact of household income on child deprivation, all households (i.e. households with and households without children) were split into five groups (quintiles) based upon their disposable income, with the 20% of households with the lowest income in the first quintile and the 20% of households with the highest income in the fifth quintile.
