Exports to Asia have increased from €1.3 billion in 1994 to €17.4 billion in 2019 and represent 11% of total exports.

In 1994, 37% of Ireland’s imports came from the UK, at a value of €8 billion. By 2019, the value of imports from the UK had increased to €20 billion, but this represented 22% of total imports.
Imports from the EU increased in proportion from 24% to 37% between 1994 and 2019. In value terms, this was an increase from €4.4 billion to €33.1 billion.
