The following tables show a further breakdown of the Personal Consumption of goods and services items from Expenditure.

Figure 10.1 shows the contributions of each of the different types of expenditure to the total Households Expenditure on Goods & Services in Ireland. Of this total we can see that Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas & Other Fuels accounts for 27.6%, Restaurants & Hotels account for 12.9%, Transport accounts for 9.7%, while Food & Non-alcoholic Beverages accounts for 8.6%.

Figure 10.2 above shows the percentage change in each of the components of Households Expenditure on Goods & Services in Ireland in 2021. COVID-19 and related economic restrictions continue to impact on expenditure with Transport down 4.4% while there was a significant rebound in Restaurants & Hotels which were up 23.7%.
