Annual Domestic Demand data are bring presented for the first time in the Annual National Accounts for 2021. The euro million values and annual percentage changes contained in Tables 9.1, 9.2, 9.3 and 9.4 in this publication align with those presented in Quarterly National Accounts Q1 2022 (Final) Table 5.2.
Final Total Domestic Demand, comprises of:
(a) Personal consumption of goods and services
(b) Net expenditure by central and local government
(c) Gross domestic fixed capital formation
Final Total Domestic Demand declined by 18.2% in real terms in 2021 compared with 2020. When the Value of physical changes in stocks and net acquisitions of valuables are taken into account, Total Domestic Demand decreased by 17.6% in the year.
For the annual values of the de-globalised measure Modified Domestic Demand, those are presented in Quarterly National Accounts Q1 2022 (Final) Table 5.4. Modified Final Domestic Demand expanded by 5.8% in year 2021 over 2020 in real terms while Modified Total Domestic Demand increased by 6.2% over the same period.
