Public transport (bus, Luas and rail)

A total of 197.4 million passengers were carried on scheduled bus services, 32.6 million passengers travelled on the Luas and 37.8 million passengers travelled by rail in 2014.
Iarnród Éireann carried 578,000 tonnes of freight in 2014. The principal commodity carried was mineral ores.
The number of journeys by users of Dublinbikes increased to just over 3 million (3,014,937) in 2014, an increase of 77.0% on the 2013 figure.
