There were €23.6 billion of imports from the UK in 2018, and 66% of these were imported by SMEs, with a value of €15.8 billion. Of these, €5.5 billion was imported by micro enterprises. Large enterprises imported €7 billion from the UK in 2018.

Over two-thirds of the enterprises who imported goods from the UK in 2018 were micro enterprises, with less than 10 employees, while just 2% had over 250 employees. Although there were only about 500 large enterprises who imported from the UK in 2018, they comprise over a quarter of UK imports in value terms.
