Meat Exports and Imports 2018

Ireland’s exports of beef, pig, sheep and poultry meat to the UK in 2018 were valued at €1.3 billion. More than three-quarters of this (€1 billion) was bovine meat, equating to 211,000 tonnes. There were also 65,000 tonnes of pig meat, 12,000 tonnes of sheep meat and 47,000 tonnes of poultry exported to the UK in 2018.

Total exports of these products in 2018 were €2.8 billion, with UK exports accounting for 47% of meat exports.

Imports of bovine, pig, sheep and poultry meat were €619 million in 2018. Of this, €285 million came from the UK.
