More than 90% of the exports of cereal and cereal preparations in 2018 were to the UK. Of the total export value of €439 million, €406 million was exported to the UK. Almost 80% (€253 million) of fruit and vegetable exports also went to the UK. By contrast, just €47 million of fish and seafood, or 8% of the total of exports of fish and seafood were exported to the UK in 2018.
Ireland imported €179 million of fish and seafood from the UK in 2018, almost two-thirds of total imports of this product. Ireland imported one-third of its fruit and vegetables from the UK in 2018, at a value of €439 million, and €710 million of cereal and cereal preparations, representing 56% of total imports of these products.
