The following tables show a further breakdown of the Personal Consumption of goods and services items from Expenditure.

Figure 8.1 above shows the contributions of each of the different types of expenditure to the total Personal consumption expenditure. Note that expenditure by non-residents is shown as negative as it is removed from our total. Looking at the total expenditure we can see that Housing accounts for 19%, Food, beverages and tobacco accounts for 17% and Transport and communication accounts for 15%.

Figure 8.2 above shows the percentage change in each of the components of Personal consumption expenditure in 2018. All categories of spending grew in 2018 with Household equipment and operation growing 8.4% and Expenditure outside the state rising 8.3%.
