On the expenditure side of the accounts (Table 3.5), Capital Investment increased by €24.4 billion in Q3 compared with the previous quarter and accounted for 57.1% of total domestic demand in Q3 2022.
Personal Consumption Expenditure grew by 0.3% in Q3 2022 compared to Q2 2022, while Government expenditure decreased by 0.3% over the same period. There was an overall increase in real GDP of 2.3%.

Comparisons with Q3 2021
On the expenditure side of the accounts (Table 3.3) Capital Investment grew by €28.7 billion. Personal Consumption showed an increase of 2.2% while Government expenditure decreased by 0.9% over the same period. Exports of Goods and Services increased by 16.2% (or €23.4 billion) in Q3 2022 compared with the same quarter of 2021. Imports of Goods and Services grew by 43.5% (or €40.2 billion) over the same period. Net Exports therefore decreased by 32.6% (or €16.8 billion) over the period year-on-year.
