On the expenditure side of the accounts (Table 3.5), Capital Investment increased by €1.1 billion in Q2 compared with the previous quarter and accounted for 40.1% of total domestic demand in Q2 2022.
Personal Consumption Expenditure grew by 1.8% in Q2 2022 compared to Q1 2022, while Government expenditure increased by 2.7% over the same period. There was an overall increase in real GDP of 1.8%.

Comparisons with Q2 2021
On the expenditure side of the accounts (Table 3.3) Capital Investment grew by €6.1 billion. Personal Consumption showed an increase of 5.6% while Government expenditure grew by 2.6% over the same period. Exports of Goods and Services increased by 13.1% (or €18.4 billion) in Q2 2022 compared with the same quarter of 2021. Imports of Goods and Services grew by 16.8% (or €15.3 billion) over the same period. Net Exports therefore increased by 6.2% or €3.1 billion over the period year-on-year.
