CSO statistical release, , 11am

Questions on alcohol consumption gather data on a person's drinking status, volume of intake, and pattern of alcohol consumption.

Across every age group, men were more likely than women to report drinking alcohol at least once a week. The highest weekly alcohol drinking rates were seen among adults aged 55 to 74 years, while young adults aged 15 to 24 years were the least likely to drink alcohol this frequently.
