Publishing of books:
- Includes: books, brochures and similar publications; dictionaries and encyclopaedias; atlases, maps and charts; e-books and audiobooks; comic books and graphic novels; All the feasible forms of publishing (in print, digital, analogue, or any other form) are included
- Excludes: Production of globes; publishing of music and sheet music books; jointly publishing and distributing podcasts; audiobook streaming activities not associated with its publishing; activities of independent authors
Publishing of newspapers:
- Includes: Publishing of newspapers; advertising newspapers
- Excludes: Production of television or video news programmes; news agency activities; activities of photojournalists, not self-publishing their own created content; activities of journalists whose content is published by a third party
Publishing of journals and periodicals:
- Includes: Publishing of journals and other periodicals; publishing of radio and television schedules; all the feasible forms of publishing (in print, digital, analogue, or any other form) are included
- Excludes: Production of television or video news programmes; content distribution via blogs; activities of photojournalists, not self-publishing their own created content; activities of journalists whose content is published by a third party
Other publishing activities, except software publishing:
- Includes: Publishing in any format, including print, digital or on the internet, e.g. calendars, greeting cards, forms, posters, etc.
- Excludes: Retail sale of software on physical media; production of video content; operation of content distribution (sharing) platforms, including blogs and wiki sites, social network sites and online gaming / video game sites, not associated with publishing of the content; application hosting; operation of web search portals; compiling of information or directories on a fee or contract basis
