In 2020, half (50%) of internet users used storage space on the internet (‘cloud’ storage) to save files (such as documents, pictures, videos, audio files, etc.), which can be accessed anywhere, from any smartphone, tablet or computer. Examples of cloud storage include Google Drive, Dropbox, Microsoft OneDrive, Apple iCloud, Amazon Drive, etc. When comparing the use of cloud storage by gender, there is very little difference between males and females (49% versus 50%). Nearly seven in ten (69%) internet users aged 16 to 44 years used cloud storage as a form of file storage in 2020, compared with just 32% of internet users in the 60 to 74 years age group. Of internet users aged 45 to 59 years, 45% used cloud storage. See Table 7.1 and Figure 7.1.
