Large enterprises had highest ICT envirnomental measures applied

More than half of enterprises considered environmental impact when selecting ICT services/equipment

In 2022, 56% of enterprises surveyed considered environmental impact when selecting ICT services/equipment. Almost two-thirds (64%) of large enterprises applied environmental measures to the amount of paper they used for printing and copying, compared with 56% of medium enterprises and 41% of small enterprises. More than half (51%) of large enterprises applied measures to their energy use for ICT equipment, compared with 39% of medium enterprises and 16% of small enterprises.

More than 80% of medium and large enterprises disposed of or recycled ICT equipment

When disposing of IT equipment, 73% of enterprises disposed of waste through electronic waste or recycling, including returning it to the retailer for disposal. More than a quarter (27%) of enterprises kept the waste within the enterprise for purposes such as using spare parts or protecting confidential information.
