As a response to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) aim to 'Leave no one behind', the CSO's SDG Division implemented the UNECE 'Road Map for Statistics on SDGs' to provide capacity building for countries which did not have the resources or skills to develop GIS platforms for SDG data visualisation. A tutorial was developed to demonstrate how to create maps for geospatial visualisation of the data. This tutorial is available on the UNECE Statistics Division wiki.

A version of the tutorial for Ireland is given here. The tutorial shows how to use freely available official data (e.g. CSO Statbank data) and map the data to Ireland's regions (Geospatial data visualisation). Open source code 'R' is used which is freely available to download.
