Balance of Payments consists of a number of different surveys. Together, these surveys provide the data to publish Balance of Payments and International Investment Position statistics. Results are used in the compiling of National Accounts estimates.

BOP30: Portfolio investment by Irish investment managers acting on behalf of resident and non-resident Private Clients, Institutional Investors, Brokers and Other investors. BOP40: Manufacturing and non financial enterprises (i.e. excluding NACE Rev.2 divisions 64-66) which are BOP relevant (i.e. have transactions with non-residents) BOP42: Irish Companies, Irish captive companies and Irish branches of foreign companies which provide and/or procure non-life insurance/reinsurance services BOP43: Irish Companies, Irish captive companies and Irish branches of foreign companies which provide and/or procure life assurance/reassurance services BOP44: Stand-Alone Treasury companies which provide internationally traded financial services BOP45: Financial Intermediaries and Financial Services companies excluding Insurance (i.e. NACE Rev.2 divisions 64 and 66). Also includes a number of other non-manufacturing companies that are BOP relevant (i.e. have transactions with non-residents)

BOP30: Balance Sheet data and related income flows are to be reported giving a geographical analysis of the flows and positions in assets and liabilities managed by Irish Investment Managers. BOP40: Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet data is to be reported giving a geographical analysis of the flows and positions in assets and liabilities BOP42: Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet data giving a geographical analysis of the flows and positions of assets and liabilities BOP43: Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet data giving a geographical analysis of the flows and positions of assets and liabilities BOP44: Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet is to be reported giving a geographical analysis of the flows and positions in assets and liabilities of the Treasury company. BOP45: Income receivable from and expenditure payable to both residents and non-residents. Includes Interest income on loans and securities, finance lease income, operating lease income and fee income, with similar classifications for expenditure. Balance sheet stocks and flows are also collected using a detailed instrument breakdown.
