The Central Statisics Office (CSO) has today (11 November 2021) released Agricultural Price Indices for September 2021.

Commenting on the release, Anthony Dawson, Statistician, said: "Today's Agricultural Price Indices release shows there have been significant price changes on both the input and output sides of Agriculture in Ireland in the last 12 months.

Fertliser and Energy prices have seen the most significant change with a 31.3% and 22.2% annual increase in these sub indices respectively.

On the output side, there have been annual increases in Cattle (16%) and Sheep (15.3%) while Milk prices are also up on the year at 15.8%.

This increase in both input and output price indices for that last calendar year means that the September 2021 Terms of Trade (i.e. output prices compared with input prices) of 103.6 has remained close to the September 2020 Terms of Trade (103.8)."
