Wholesale electricity prices rose by 14.8% in the month to July 2026 and were 56.2% higher than July 2025.
All Energy Fuels were up by 0.6% in July 2026 compared with June 2026, and up 19.1% comparing July 2026 with July 2025.
Domestic producer prices for manufactured goods were on average 4.5% higher in July 2026 compared with July 2025, while producer prices for exported goods were up by 7.6%. Overall, manufacturing producer prices were 7.3% higher in the year.
Producer prices for food products increased by 2.7% in the 12 months to July 2026, while the Food Products, Beverages & Tobacco Index was up by 2.4%.
Some of the most notable changes in producer prices for food products over the 12 months to July 2026 were: Fish & Fish Products (+9.0%) and Other Food Products (+6.7%).
The most noteworthy changes in other producer prices in the year to July 2026 were: Chemicals & Chemical Products (+16.5%), Other Non-Metallic Mineral Products (+6.4%), Electrical Equipment (+6.2%), Basic Metals (+5.6%), Fabricated Metal Products, except Machinery & Equipment (+4.8%), and Pulp, Paper & Paper Products (+4.2%).
Wholesale prices for Construction Products declined by 0.1% in the month to July 2026 but rose by 3.3% in the 12 months since July 2025.

The Building & Construction Index (i.e. Materials and Wages) was unchanged in the month to July 2026 and was up by 3.4% in the 12 months to July 2026. This index combines the All Materials Index with a measure of the change of wages in the Construction sector to provide an overall index for input construction costs (See Table 4).
There was a monthly rise of 14.8% in the price of wholesale electricity from June to July 2026. The price of electricity in July 2026 was 56.2% higher than in July 2025 but was 59.9% lower when compared with the peak that occurred in August 2022.
The price index for all energy fuels rose by 0.6% in July 2026 and was up by 19.1% in the year since July 2025.
The overall Energy Products Index has risen by 11.1% since June 2026 and was 45.6% higher when compared with July 2025 (See Figure 3 and Table 5).

Statistician's Comment
The Central Statistics Office (CSO) has today (21 August 2026) published the Wholesale Price Index (WPI) for July 2026.
Commenting on the release, Deirdre Toher, Statistician in the Prices Division, said:
“Wholesale price inflation showed an increase in July 2026 with a 3.2% growth in the overall Producer Price Index for manufacturing industries in the month.
The price index for export sales was up by 3.6% since June 2026, while the index for home sales grew by 0.8% in the month.
Producer prices for products sold on the domestic market were 4.5% higher in July 2026 compared with July 2025. In the 12 months to July 2026, export producer prices rose by 7.6%, while overall producer prices were up by 7.3%.
Electricity, Energy Fuels and Food Prices
Wholesale electricity prices rose by 14.8% in July 2026 when compared with June 2026 and were 56.2% higher than July 2025. They have fallen by 59.9% when compared with the peak that occurred in August 2022.
All Energy Fuels were up by 0.6% in the month and were up 19.1% since July 2025.
Producer prices for food products declined by 0.2% since June 2026 but rose by 2.7% in the year since July 2025. Some of the most notable changes in producer prices for food products over the 12 months to July 2026 were for Fish & Fish Products (+9.0%) and Other Food Products (+6.7%) (See Table 2).
Construction Products
The All Materials Index for Construction Products decreased by 0.1% in July 2026 but rose by 3.3% in the 12 months since July 2025. The Building & Construction Index (i.e. Materials and Wages) was unchanged in the month and was 3.4% higher than July 2025 (See Tables 3 and 4).”
