Dublin passenger numbers in January 2023 up 11% compared with January 2019

COVID-19 restrictions led to a sharp fall in passengers handled by Irish airports.

The number of passengers in Dublin airport in January 2023 was over twice that of January 2022 numbers and 11% higher than the level seen in the same month in 2019 (before COVID-19). There were 2,334,893 passengers handled by the Dublin, Knock and Kerry airports in January 2023 compared with 2,118,036 for the same month in 2019.

(Note: Knock airport was closed from April to June 2020 and from February to May 2021. Cork Airport was closed in October 2021. Data for Shannon and Cork not available at time of publication.)
