Tonnes of fish landed by Irish vessels in 2017

This chapter contains data on fish landings by Irish vessels to Irish ports and foreign ports, and landings by foreign vessels to Irish ports. The data were taken from our Fish Landings 2017 release.

Landings by Irish trawlers increased by 1.6% from 241,553 tonnes in 2016 to 245,482 tonnes in 2017. In 2017, Atlantic Mackerel was the species with the highest tonnage (75,238 tonnes) landed by Irish vessels in Irish ports, followed by Blue Whiting (42,181 tonnes) and Horse Mackerel (22,808 tonnes).
