Survey purpose:

The purpose of this survey is to determine the annual expenditure by enterprises in Ireland on protecting the environment in 2022, in order to meet EU and national needs for these statistics.

Legislative Basis National:

This survey is conducted under the Statistics (Environmental Expenditure Survey) Order 2024 (S.I. No. 93 of 2024), which was made under the Statistics Act, 1993.

Legislative Basis European:

The information requested in this survey is needed to satisfy commitments under EU Regulation No. 691/2011, as amended by Regulation No. 538/2014, on environmental-economic accounts.
