Press Release QNHS - Retirement Planning Quarter 2 2012

 

A questionnaire on the topic of the transition from work to retirement of individuals aged 50 - 69 years was included in the Quarterly National Household Survey (QNHS) in the second quarter (April – June) of 2012. The module was designed by the Central Statistics Office in consultation with Eurostat (Regulation 0577/1998). The focus of the module was to collect data on the decisions and choices working people make when considering retirement.

 

Main tables

 

  • Percentage of persons aged 50-69, currently working or having worked after the aged of 50 classified by whether they receive a pension and demographic characteristics, Quarter 2 2012.

 

  • Percentage of persons aged 50 to 69, not currently working that receive an Old age related pension classified by whether they retired early and demographic characteristics, Quarter 2 2012.

 

  • Percentage of persons aged 50 to 69 who are not currently working and receive an Old age related pension classified by preference to stay longer at work and demographic characteristics Q2 2012.

 

  • Percentage of persons aged 50-69 who are not working and receive an Old age related pension classified by reasons for not remaining longer in work and demographic characteristics Q2 2012.
