Industrial local units with three or more persons engaged had a gross output of €99,966m in 2002 and a net output of €60,373, the detailed Census of Industrial Production 2002 released by the Central Statistics Office today reveals. The gross output was up 1.6% on the 2001 figure and the net output increased by 7.5%. Employment in industrial local units decreased by 9,805 to 258,435. A total of €7,692m was paid in wages and salaries in the year.
Early estimates for 2002 were published in November 2003 while summary information for 2002 was published in a provisional release in June 2004.
