In September 2016 Padraig Dalton, Director General Central Statistics Office (CSO) and Colin Bray, Chief Executive and Chief Survey Officer of OSi, signed a Memorandum of Association between CSO and Ordnance Survey Ireland (PDF 262KB) to describe the mutual goals and responsibilities of CSO and OSi with regard to establishing a closer working relationship to maximise CSO and OSi data and assets for our mutual stakeholders and in support of the Government’s Public Sector Reform agenda.

In particular, this MOU will facilitate the establishment of a joint CSO/OSi technical working group to take a medium to long-term view in jointly developing and delivering on our data visualisation requirements.  In addition this MOU will facilitate CSO and OSi working together to maximise the potential of Open Spatial Data.
