CSO Household Survey Interviewers

Overview

The Central Statistics Office (CSO) frequently hire Temporary and Permanent Household Survey Interviewers to conduct essential surveys across Ireland. With an average of 25.15 hours per week, this role is designed for individuals who can work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, to best reach survey participants. Interviewers will be assigned to locations based on their home address, as surveys are conducted nationwide.

Successful candidates may work on various surveys, including the Labour Force Survey (LFS), Survey of Income and Living Conditions (SILC), Household Budget Survey (HBS), and the Growing Up in Ireland study. Read more about CSO Household Surveys.

Survey interviewers should hold a valid full driving license and have access to a car for work-related travel. Survey Interviewers must be available to work 25.15 hours weekly including evenings and weekend work.

Responsibilities

As a  Household Survey Interviewer within the Central Statistics Office, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation: Attend mandatory training sessions and familiarize yourself with survey documentation and data collection processes.
  • Survey Collection: Conduct data collection using electronic devices (tablets, smartphones) and ensure timely submission of data to CSO headquarters.
  • Communication: Maintain regular contact with field management and administrative teams, ensuring compliance with deadlines and quality standards.
  • Data Protection: Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality and data governance throughout the collection and reporting processes.

Locations and Opportunities

We recruit nationwide for our Household Survey Interviewers. Appointments will be offered based on geographical location and order of merit.
