Our statistics about Ireland are independent and reliable, because you told us.

The information you give us lets us create a very accurate picture of what it means to live in Ireland today - our lives, our economy, our health, our happiness and well-being.

About the Social Connections Survey

The Social Connections Survey is a pilot survey that gathers information about social connectedness, solidarity, and trust among individuals or groups of people, and society at large. Questions are included on values, connections between groups, fairness, discrimination, and grievances.

The survey is undertaken as part of United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) taskforce on the measuring between group relations.

Why is it important?

The objective of the Social Connections Survey is to test questions that could provide evidence-based data on the strength of personal and societal bonds between different groups of people in Ireland.

The statistics produced from future iterations of the survey will be used by people, academics, local authorities and national government to make policy decisions and to plan for our futures.

How can I take part?

The CSO has set up a panel of randomly selected people to participate in a series of short surveys. If you were selected for this panel, you may be contacted by email to complete this survey.

If you are contacted via email, information on how to take part in the Social Connections Survey will be included in the email. You can access and complete the questionnaire using  your CSO identifier and PIN provided in the email and following the provided link, or click on the link here: https://launch.survey.cso.ie/

If you are asked to take part, please do so because your voice matters.
