Our statistics about Ireland are independent and reliable, because you told us.

The information you give us lets us create a very accurate picture of what it means to live in Ireland today—our lives, our economy, our health, our education, our happiness and well-being.

What is the ICT Household Survey?

The Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Household Survey is conducted every year as part of the Digital Economy and Society Index (DESI) and Digital Scoreboard.
This year, the survey will cover topics such as household internet access, use of electronic identification (eID), the use of ICT in delivering government services more effectively and efficiently, ICT skills, privacy and protection of personal data, and online purchases.

Why is the ICT Household Survey important?

CSO statistics are used by people, enterprises, local authorities and national government to make policy decisions and to plan for our futures.

This survey is the official source of data on internet connectivity, technical literacy, use of internet services, and integration of digital technology in Ireland. It helps us to measure Ireland’s progress and the progress of other EU countries towards a digital economy and society..

How can I take part?

The CSO has set up a panel of randomly selected citizens to participate in a series of short surveys. If you were selected for this panel, you will be contacted by email or phone to complete this survey.

If you are contacted via email, information on how to take part in the ICT Household Survey will be included in the email. You can access and complete the questionnaire using the CSO identifier and PIN provided in the email and following the provided link, or click on the link here; https://launch.survey.cso.ie/

If we contact you by phone, you can complete the survey by answering the survey questions over the phone.

If you are asked to take part, please do so because your voice matters.
