Our statistics about Ireland are independent and reliable, because you told us.
The information you give us lets us create a very accurate picture of what it means to live in Ireland today - our lives, our economy, our health, our education, our happiness and well-being.
The CSO is currently running the Environment Survey as a CSO Panel Survey. People who previously opted to be part of the CSO Survey Panel may be invited to participate in this survey.
The CSO has recently contacted randomly selected citizens to invite them to take part in 3-4 surveys over the next year.
Thank you to those who have agreed to take part and provided us with your details.
A diverse range of topics such as your life online, the environment and your wellbeing will be covered.
These surveys are short. If you want to opt out, email us at CSOTakePart@cso.ie and we will remove you from the panel.
It is important to take part in these surveys so that the CSO can provide accurate data on topics like health, wealth, broadband availability. This data will be used in evidence-based decision making.
Those we randomly sampled in December last year and agreed to be part of this panel are eligible.
We will be in touch with the panel over the next two weeks via email or phone to take part in the Environment Survey.
For those who receive an email, there will be details included in the email you received, logon using your CSO identifier and PIN and complete the survey. This should only take about 15 minutes.

For those who receive a phone call, please answer the questions asked over the phone.
For this panel, the CSO have selected a random sample of the population.
We will contact you over the next two weeks to take part in the Environment Survey. The purpose of the Environment survey is to collect information on how households across Ireland interact with the environment, particularly in relation to energy use in the home and time spent outdoors in green and natural spaces. Information that we collect from these surveys helps decision makers so please take the time to complete. Thanks again for your participation.
Taking part is voluntary but it is important that as many people as possible take part. If you want to opt out at any time, simply email CSOTakePart@CSO.ie and we will remove your name from the list.
