The Flash Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) provides an early estimate of inflation in Ireland and allows for an easy comparison with other EU Member States. The HICP is calculated using the same methodology as the Irish Consumer Price Index (CPI) however, some goods and services such as Mortgage Interest are excluded to enable fair comparisons with other EU countries.
