Detailed Trade Statistics August 2022

Introduction

Online ISSN: 2712-0252
CSO statistical release, , 11am

Information Note on Changes to the Trade Statistics

From March 2020 the Trade Statistics publication has been produced in a new format, and renamed Detailed Trade Statistics.

The data are now available as a downloadable csv file rather than a PDF document. The file includes data at SITC3 (Standard International Trade Classification) product level for all Intra-EU countries and the largest trading partners outside the EU. The variables are import and export values (€) and weights (kg).

Summary tables are no longer included in this publication as the data are available in other publications and locations on the CSO website. We therefore recommend that users access the data from these alternative locations to ensure that they have the most up-to-date data available to them.

Further details are available in the Information Note on Changes to Trade Statistics: Information Note on Changes to Trade Statistics

User consultation on the future of Detailed Trade Data

The CSO is currently planning for the future of the Detailed Trade Statistics release and the best way to provide detailed trade data to our users. We would like to hear from you about what trade data you would like the CSO to publish. For example:

  • Do you currently use the Detailed Trade Statistics publication?
  • What level of detail for Trade Statistics products would you like to see published by CSO?
  • We are considering publishing the Detailed Trade statistics on the CSO PxStat database rather than a monthly publication.  Is the format in which the data is presented important to you?  What variables would you like to be able to access in our database?

Please send us your feedback to trade@cso.ie
