The number of new cars licensed increased by 1,810 vehicles compared with June 2022

Passenger numbers in June 2023 were up 15% and 1% compared with June 2022 and June 2019 respectively for Dublin, Cork, Knock and Shannon airports combined

The number of passengers in Dublin airport in June 2023 was 14% higher than June 2022, and there was 0% change compared with the same month in 2019 (before COVID-19). There were 3,218,315 passengers handled by Dublin airport in June 2023 compared with 3,202,409 passengers in June 2019. In the first half of 2023, there were 15,646,696 passengers handled by Dublin airport compared with 15,437,900 passengers in the same period in 2019.

Looking at June 2023, figures show that the number of passengers handled by Cork airport was 13% higher than June 2022 figures, and 0% change when compared with numbers seen in the same month in 2019 (before COVID-19). For Shannon airport, the number of passengers was 32% higher in June 2023 compared with June 2022 and 10% higher than June 2019. There were 3,776,092 passengers handled by Dublin, Cork, Knock and Shannon airports in June 2023 compared with 3,737,070 for the same month in 2019.

(Note: Knock airport was closed from April to June 2020 and from February to May 2021. Cork Airport was closed in October 2021. Data for Kerry not available at time of publication.)
