- Large enterprises with more than 250 employees made up €108bn (57%) of total service exports (€189bn) in 2018.
- Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with less than 250 employees, together accounted for €52bn (27%) of total exports while small enterprises made up €38bn (20%) of the total.
- The remaining 16% of service exports (€29bn) consisted of enterprises of unknown size (which represented quarterly estimates as well as travel, some financial and government services).
- Large enterprises made up €125bn (61%) of total service imports (€206bn) in 2018.
- SMEs accounted for €58bn (28%) of total imports while small enterprises made up €45bn (22%) of the service imports total.
- The remaining 11% of service imports (€22bn) consisted of enterprises of unknown size. See table 3.1 and figure 3.1.
