Natural gas Imports in November 2023 were 8% higher than in November 2022 and Indigenous Production was 14% lower (See Tables 1B, 1C and Figure 1).
Gas Imports represented 79% of total metered supply in November 2023 with Indigenous Production from the Corrib gas field and biomethane plants accounting for the remaining 21% (See Tables 1A, 1B and 1C).
Total networked gas supply in November 2023 was 4,663 gigawatt hours (GWh). The November supply figure was 12% higher than the October 2023 figure of 4,176 GWh (See Table 1A).
Comparing November 2023 with November 2022, natural gas demand by customer category showed the following trends: Daily Metered (+3%); Large Daily Metered (-8%); Non-Daily Metered (+11%); and Power Plants (+0.4%) (See Tables 2B to 2E).
Networked gas demand for November 2023 was lowest on the 18 November 2023 with daily demand of 96 GWh and was highest on 30 November 2023 with daily demand of 235 GWh (See Table 4A).
The three lowest maximum daily air temperatures recorded at Dublin Airport occurred on 28, 29, and 30 November 2023 with temperatures of 6.5, 5.3, and 5.4 degrees Celsius respectively (See Table 5).

Statistician's Comment
The Central Statistics Office (CSO) has today (02 February 2024) published Networked Gas Daily Supply and Demand November 2023.
Commenting on the release Deirdre Moran, Statistician in the Environment and Climate Division, said: “Total networked gas supply in November 2023 was 4,663 gigawatt hours (GWh). The November supply figure was 12% higher than the October 2023 figure of 4,176 GWh (See Table 1A).
Gas Imports represented 79% of total metered supply in November 2023 with Indigenous Production from the Corrib gas field and biomethane plants accounting for the remaining 21% (See Tables 1A, 1B and 1C).
Total metered gas demand in November 2023 was 4,659 GWh which was 2% higher than the November 2022 figure of 4,559 GWh (See Table 2A).
In November 2023, Power Plants accounted for 59% of total gas demand, down from 66% of total demand in October 2023. Non-Daily Metered represented 26% of total gas demand, up from 17% of total demand in October 2023 (See Tables 2A, 2B, 2C and Figure 2).
The 28, 29, and 30 November were the three days with the lowest maximum daily air temperatures recorded at Dublin Airport during November 2023 (See Table 5). These three days had the highest Non-Daily Metered natural gas consumption (See Table 4C)."
Meteorological Data
This release includes information on the maximum daily air temperatures at Dublin Airport (See Table 5). Low maximum daily air temperatures in winter usually increase the demand for household heating.
