Milk Statistics July 2026

Domestic Milk Intake in July 2026 estimated at 983 million litres

Key Findings

  • Domestic Milk Intake by milk processors and co-ops was estimated at 982.7 million litres in July 2026, a decrease of 22.2 million litres (-2.2%) when compared with July 2025, while it was up 10.3 million litres (+1.1%) when compared with the same month in 2024.

  • Fat content for July 2026 was 4.18%, down from 4.21% in July 2025. Protein content also dropped slightly from 3.49% to 3.48% in the 12 months to July 2026.

  • Butter production in July 2026 was 30,700 tonnes, down from 32,500 tonnes in July 2025.

  • Skimmed Milk Powder production dropped from 19,000 tonnes in July 2025 to 16,500 tonnes in July 2026.

  • For the period January to July 2026, Domestic Milk Intake was estimated at 5.57 billion litres, down 84.9 million litres (-1.5%) when compared with the same period in 2025, while it was up 250.0 million litres (+4.7%) when compared with January to July 2024.
