Enterprises who traded with the UK and with at least 10 other countries had the highest values of trade, with total goods exports of €87 billion and imports of €36 billion in 2017. Enterprises who only traded with the UK had €2.4 billion of exports and €3.9 billion of imports.

The UK was Ireland’s most significant trading partner in terms of the number of enterprises, for both exports and imports of goods, Germany was ranked second.
6,719 enterprises exported goods to the UK in 2017 compared to 1,800 enterprises who exported to Germany. The US, The Netherlands and France were next with approximately 1,700 enterprises exporting to each of these countries.
