The Agri/Food sector was the largest exporter to the UK in 2016 with €3.5 billion of goods exported, or 24% of total UK exports. Other Manufacturing and Construction and Wholesale/Retail sectors recorded UK exports of €3.3 billion and €3.2 billion, respectively.
Looking at the number of enterprises who export to the UK, the Wholesale/Retail sector dominates, accounting for 42% of the total number of exporters. In comparison, the number of exporters in the Agri/Food sector is 8% of the total.
