In June 2026, Ireland’s exports of goods increased by €1.2 billion (+7.1%) to €18.1 billion when compared with June 2025 (€16.9 billion).
The unadjusted imports for June 2026 were valued at €14.7 billion, an increase of 19.0% on June 2025 (€12.3 billion).
Goods imports increased by 12.5% to €79.1 billion from January to June 2026 compared with the same six-month period in 2025, while exports of goods decreased by 30.5% (€45.4 billion) to €103.6 billion.
Exports to the United States fell by €48.9 billion (-65.1%) to €26.2 billion from January to June 2026 compared with the same period of 2025 (€75.1 billion).
Exports to Great Britain increased by €3.1 billion (+42.6%) to €10.3 billion in the first half of 2026 compared with the same period of 2025 (€7.2 billion).
Exports of Office Machines & Automatic Data Processing Machine grew by €561.5 million (+95.7%) to €1.1 billion in June 2026 compared with June 2025 (€586.9 million), representing 6.3% of total exports in June 2026.
The most recent month’s data on External Trade in Goods figures are provisional and subject to revision. Revisions to the monthly series back data shall take place, if and as required, on foot of late survey returns, VAT returns and corrections made by traders. The data for the same month a year ago may be considered final – revisions would be applied only in exceptional circumstances. Revisions are applied also to the volume indices and to the seasonally adjusted data.
Seasonally adjusted goods exports decreased by €246.3 million (–1.4%) to €17.2 billion in June 2026 compared with May 2026 (€17.4 billion), according to preliminary figures.
Seasonally adjusted goods imports decreased by €730.6 million (–5.0%) to €13.7 billion in June 2026 compared with May 2026 (€14.5 billion).
The seasonally adjusted trade surplus increased by €484.3 million (+16.3%) to €3.5 billion in June 2026 compared with May 2026 (€3.0 billion) (See Table 2).
Seasonal adjustment compares month-to-month data by removing fluctuations that may occur due to seasonal patterns in trade.

In the first 6 months of 2026, exports of goods decreased by €45.4 billion (-30.5%) to €103.6 billion, when compared with the same period of 2025 (€148.9 billion).
The value of goods imports in the first half of 2026 increased by €8.8 billion (+12.5%) to €79.1 billion, when compared with the same period of 2025 (€70.4 billion).
The value of export goods increased in June 2026 by €1.2 billion (+7.1%) to €18.1 billion, when compared with June 2025 (€16.9 billion) (See Table 1).
The (unadjusted) value of goods imports increased by €2.3 billion (+19.0%) to €14.7 billion in June 2026 compared with June 2025 (€12.3 billion).
In June 2026, Ireland’s top exporting partners were the US, the Netherlands and Great Britain, with Ireland exporting 23.8% (€4.3 billion), 9.3% (€1.69 billion) and 9.1% (€1.65 billion) respectively of total export goods to these countries.
In June 2026, Ireland imported the highest value of goods from the US, Great Britain and China with these countries representing 17.5% (€2.6 billion), 10.5% (€1.53 billion) and 10.3% (€1.51 billion) respectively of the total import trade for June 2026 (See Table 3).
Exports to Great Britain increased by €444.7 million (+36.8%) to €1.7 billion in June 2026 compared with June 2025 (€1.2 billion).
The products which accounted for the largest share of exports to Great Britain in June 2026 were Chemicals & Related Products at €561.4 million and Machinery & Transport Equipment at €383.3 million, representing 34.0% and 23.2% respectively of total exports to Great Britain in June 2026.
Imports from Great Britain increased by €260.7 million (+20.4%) to €1.5 billion in June 2026 compared with June 2025 (€1.3 billion).
The products which accounted for the largest share of imports from Great Britain were Machinery & Transport Equipment at €397.1 million and Mineral Fuels, Lubricants & Related Materials at €290.8 million, representing 25.9% and 18.9% respectively of total imports from Great Britain in June 2026 (See Table 4).
Exports to Great Britain increased by €3.1 billion (+42.6%) to €10.3 billion in the first 6 months of 2026 compared with the same period of 2025 (€7.2 billion).
Imports from Great Britain increased by €168.2 million (+2.1%) to €8.4 billion in the first 6 months of 2026 compared with the same period in 2025 (€8.2 billion).
Exports to the US decreased by €39.7 million (-0.9%) to €4.32 billion in June 2026 compared with June 2025 (€4.36 billion).
The products which accounted for the largest share of exports to the US in June 2026 were Chemicals & Related Products at €2.6 billion and Machinery & Transport Equipment at €883 million, representing 60.4% and 20.4% respectively of total exports to the US in June 2026.
Imports from the US increased by €867 million (+51.3%) to €2.6 billion in June 2026 compared with June 2025 (€1.7 billion).
The products which accounted for the largest share of imports from the US were Machinery & Transport Equipment at €1.3 billion and Chemicals & Related Products at €751.9 million, representing 49.8% and 29.4% respectively of total imports from the US in June 2026 (See Table 4).
Exports to the US decreased by €48.9 billion (-65.1%) to €26.2 billion in the first 6 months of 2026 compared with the same period of 2025 (€75.1 billion).
Imports from the US increased by €470.7 million (+4.2%) to €11.6 billion in the first 6 months of 2026 compared with the same period in 2025 (€11.1 billion).

Exports of Medical & Pharmaceutical Products decreased by €509.1 million (-7.1%) to €6.7 billion in June 2026 compared with June 2025 (€7.2 billion) (See Table 5).
In the first 6 months of 2026, exports of Medical & Pharmaceutical Products decreased by €47.5 billion (-55.0%) to €38.8 billion compared with the same period in 2025 (€86.3 billion).
Exports of Office Machines & Automatic Data Processing Machine increased by €561.5 million (+95.7%) to €1.1 billion in June 2026 compared with June 2025 (€586.9 million), representing 6.3% of total exports in June 2026.
Exports of Petroleum, Petroleum Products & Related Materials increased by €45.0 million (+327.6%) to €58.7 million in June 2026 compared with June 2025 (€13.7 million).
Imports of Medical & Pharmaceutical Products decreased by €120.4 million (-6.1%) to €1.85 billion in June 2026 compared with June 2025 (€1.97 billion) (See Table 5).
Imports of Medical & Pharmaceutical Products decreased by €1.1 billion (-9.0%) to €11.0 billion in the half of 2026 compared with the same period in 2025 (€12.1 billion).
Imports of Office Machines & Automatic Data Processing Machine increased by €905.2 million (+102.3%) to €1.8 billion in June 2026 compared with June 2025 (€885.2 million).
Imports of Petroleum, Petroleum Products & Related Materials increased by €41.2 million (+9.6%) to €471.4 million in June 2026 compared with June 2025 (€430.2 million).

The Central Statistics Office (CSO) has today (18 August 2026) published Goods Exports and Imports June 2026.
Commenting on the release, Jane Burmanje, Statistician in the International Trade in Goods Division said: “Both imports and exports of goods increased in June 2026 compared with June 2025 with exports going up by 7.1% to €18.1 billion and imports rising by 19.0% to €14.7 billion.
Looking at the first half of the year, January to June 2026, the value of good exports was almost a third lower (-30.5%) than the same period in 2025. Imports, in contrast, increased in the first six months of 2026 compared with 2025 with the value of imports rising by 12.5% to €79.1 billion.
Exports to the US decreased by nearly two-thirds (-65.1%) to €26.2 billion in the first 6 months of 2026 compared with the same period of 2025 (€75.1 billion) while exports to Great Britain rose by €3.1 billion (+42.6%), from €7.2 billion to €10.3 billion during the same period.”
