The value of export goods were €18.9 billion in July 2026, an increase of 12.5% compared with July 2025 (€16.8 billion).
In July 2026, Ireland’s top exporting partners were the United States (€5.0 billion), the Netherlands (€1.9 billion), and Great Britain (€1.7 billion).
Exports to Great Britain rose by 33.7% to €1.7 billion in July 2026 compared with July 2025 (€1.2 billion).
Exports of Office Machines & Automatic Data Processing Machine increased by €1.5 billion (+188.0%) to €2.3 billion in July 2026 compared with July 2025 (€796.8 million).
Exports of Petroleum, Petroleum Products & Related Materials increased by €65.7 million (+131.7%) to €115.6 million in July 2026 compared with July 2025 (€49.9 million).
The value of goods imports rose by €955.6 million to €13.6 billion in July 2026 compared with July 2025 (€12.7 billion).
Imports of Petroleum, Petroleum Products & Related Materials increased by €73.4 million (+15.9%) to €536.1 million in July 2026 compared with July 2025 (€462.7 million).
Seasonally adjusted goods exports were up by €1.0 billion to €18.4 billion in July 2026 compared with June 2026, while seasonally adjusted imports also rose by €260.5 million (+1.9%) to €13.9 billion over this period.
The most recent month’s data on External Trade in Goods figures are provisional and subject to revision. Revisions to the monthly series back data shall take place, if and as required, on foot of late survey returns, VAT returns and corrections made by traders. The data for the same month a year ago may be considered final – revisions would be applied only in exceptional circumstances. Revisions are applied also to the volume indices and to the seasonally adjusted data.
Seasonally adjusted goods exports increased by €1.0 billion (+5.8%) to €18.4 billion in July 2026 compared with June 2026 (€17.4 billion), according to preliminary figures.
Seasonally adjusted goods imports increased by €260.5 million (+1.9%) to €13.9 billion leading to an increase of €756.5 million (+19.9%) in the seasonally adjusted trade surplus to €4.6 billion in July 2026 compared with June 2026 (€3.8 billion) (See Table 2).
Seasonal adjustment compares month-to-month data by removing fluctuations that may occur due to seasonal patterns in trade.

The (unadjusted) value of export goods increased in July 2026 by €2.1 billion (+12.5%) to €18.9 billion, when compared with July 2025 (€16.8 billion) (See Table 1).
The (unadjusted) value of goods imports increased by €955.6 million (+7.5%) to €13.6 billion in July 2026 compared with July 2025 (€12.7 billion).
In July 2026, Ireland’s top exporting partners were the US, the Netherlands and Great Britain, with Ireland exporting 26.4% (€5.0 billion), 10.0% (€1.9 billion) and 8.7% (€1.7 billion) of total export goods respectively to these countries.
In July 2026, Ireland imported the highest value of goods from the US, China and Great Britain with these countries representing 14.8% (€2.0 billion), 11.0% (€1.5 billion) and 10.4% (€1.4 billion) respectively of the total import trade for July 2026 (See Table 3).
Exports to Great Britain increased by €417.1 million (+33.7%) to €1.7 billion in July 2026 compared with July 2025 (€1.2 billion).
The products which accounted for the largest share of exports to Great Britain in July 2026 were Chemicals & Related Products at €468.3 million and Food & Live Animals at €449.7 million, representing 28.3% and 27.2% respectively of total exports to Great Britain in July 2026.
Imports from Great Britain decreased by €20.1 million (-1.4%) to €1.41 billion in July 2026 compared with July 2025 (€1.43 billion).
The products which accounted for the largest share of imports from Great Britain were Mineral Fuels, Lubricants & Related Materials at €285.6 million and Machinery & Transport Equipment at €265.3 million, representing 20.2% and 18.8% respectively of total imports from Great Britain in July 2026 (See Table 4).
Exports to the US increased by €672.6 million (+15.5%) to €5.0 billion in July 2026 compared with July 2025 (€4.3 billion).
The products which accounted for the largest share of exports to the US in July 2026 were Chemicals & Related Products at €3.2 billion and Miscellaneous Manufactured Articles at €877.0 million, representing 63.6% and 17.5% respectively of total exports to the US in July 2026.
Exports of Chemicals & Related Products to the US were €3.2 billion in July 2026, an increase of 13.4% (€375.1 million) on exports compared with July 2025 (€2.8 billion).
Imports from the US increased by €118.3 million (+6.2%) to €2.0 billion in July 2026 compared with July 2025 (€1.9 billion).
The products which accounted for the largest share of imports from the US were Machinery & Transport Equipment at €889.8 million and Chemicals & Related Products at €637.2 million, representing 44.1% and 31.6% respectively of total imports from the US in July 2026 (See Table 4).

The Central Statistics Office (CSO) has today (16 September 2026) published Goods Exports and Imports July 2026.
Commenting on the release, Jane Burmanje, Statistician in the International Trade in Goods Division said: “Both the value of export and import goods increased in July 2026 compared with July 2025. Goods imports rose by €955.6 million to €13.6 billion, while goods exports went up by €2.1 billion to €18.9 billion.
While the exports of Medical & Pharmaceutical Products rose slightly by €17.9 million (+0.3%) to €6.9 billion in July 2026 compared with July 2025, exports of Office Machines & Automatic Data Processing Machines more than doubled (+188.0%) by €1.5 billion to €2.3 billion over this period.
Exports of goods to Great Britain increased by a third to €1.7 billion in July 2026 compared with July 2025 (€1.2 billion). Exports of Chemicals & Related Products to Great Britain rose by 62.3% to €468.3 million and exports of Food & Live Animals rose by 22.2% to €449.7 million in July 2026 compared with July 2025.”
