Statistician's Comment

The Central Statistics Office (CSO) has today (15 April 2026) published Goods Exports and Imports February 2026.

Commenting on the release Jane Burmanje, Statistician in the International Trade in Goods Division said: “Both exports and imports of goods fell in February 2026 compared with February 2025 with exports falling by €9.1 billion (-36.4%) to €15.9 billion and imports decreasing by €732.7 million (-6.1%) to €11.3 billion. There were exceptionally high export volumes in 2025, and looking over a longer period of time, we can see exports declined less than 1% (€42.2 million) to €15.90 billion in February 2026 when compared with February 2024 (€15.94 billion).

Both imports and exports of goods to Great Britain rose in February 2026, with exports of goods increasing by €257.9 million (+23.0%) to €1.4 billion and imports rising by €77.1 million (+6.2%) to €1.3 billion compared with February 2025.

Despite exports of goods to the US falling by more than two thirds (€9.0 billion) to €3.9 billion in February 2026 compared with February 2025 (€12.9 billion), the US remains Ireland’s top import and export goods partner.

Ireland exported a quarter of total export goods (€3.9 billion) to the US and imported 16.1 % (€1.8 billion) of total import goods from the US in February 2026.”
