• Among non-Irish citizens, the group with the highest proportion of Irish speakers was Australians, of whom 15% or 501 people aged three years and over could speak the language.

• The next highest proportions of Irish speakers aged three and over among non-Irish citizens was among Latvian citizens at 13% or 2,114 people and Polish citizens at 13% or 10,838 people.

• In Census 2022, there were 195,029 Irish speakers aged three years and over who spoke the language very well, representing 10% of all Irish speakers aged three years and over.

• In Census 2022, there were 593,898 Irish speakers aged three years and over who spoke the language well, representing 32% of all Irish speakers aged three years and over.

• In Census 2022, there were 1,034,132 Irish speakers aged three years and over who didn't speak the language well, representing 55% of all Irish speakers aged three years and over.
