There were 10,321 homeless people in Census 2022.
There were 6,234 males, 60% of the total homeless population, and 4,087 females (40%).
The Regional Homelessness Action Plan Area (Administrative Region) with the lowest number of homeless people was North-West (Sligo, Donegal and Leitrim) with 102 people or 1% of the total homeless population.
The Regional Homelessness Action Plan Area (Administrative Region) with the highest number of homeless people was Dublin (Dublin City, Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown, Fingal and South Dublin) with 7,238 people or 70% of the total homeless population.
Just under one-third of the homeless population, 32% or 3,309 people, were aged under 20 years.
Only 4% of the homeless population (417 people) were aged 60 years and over.
