For the overall category Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages, Switzerland was the most expensive country, with prices on average 66% above the EU27 average, while Turkey was the least expensive, 37% below the EU27 average. Irish prices were 19% above the EU27 average and roughly 14% above the Eurozone average (105).

Luxembourg was the most expensive country for Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages within the European Union and the Eurozone (19 Eurozone countries). Romania was the least expensive of the European Union countries, while Lithuania was the least expensive within the Eurozone.

Of the 36 countries, Ireland was the 6th most expensive for Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages. Ireland was the 3rd most expensive of the EU27 countries, and 2nd most expensive of the Eurozone countries.
