Environmental Expenditure Survey
The purpose of this survey is to collect information on environmental expenditure by Irish businesses in 2022.
The Environmental Expenditure Survey is conducted under the Statistics (Environmental Expenditure Survey) Order 2024 (S.I. No. 93 of 2024), which was made under the Statistics Act, 1993. Under Sections 26 and 27 of the Statistics Act, 1993, you are obliged by law to complete and return this form. The statistics are also required under EU Regulation 691/2011, as amended by EU Regulation 538/2014, on environmental-economic accounts.
The data collected in this survey will be made available to Eurostat and will be published nationally at an aggregated level only. We will ensure that it is not possible to identify an individual person or business from the data we publish or share.
All information supplied to the CSO is treated as strictly confidential in accordance with Section 33 of the Statistics Act, 1993, and will be used for statistical purposes only.
We will retain the survey data indefinitely as one of the primary purposes of the data collection is to obtain longitudinal information on environmental expenditure by Irish businesses.
